- By phone techical support. I once worked technical support at a call-center for a DSL company. Horrible work. They tend to tie your hands and not allow you to help with the root of the problem.
Success was measured by how quickly the call was ended, NOT if the issue was resolved. I don't work well that way. In any case, I hate calling technical support and so do all I can to avoid the practices
that annnoyed me while doing that particular job.
- PC to PC technical support. If you're online, then this is sometimes the quickest way. Windows Live Messenger has a "desktop sharing" program already in place. You can end the program or
terminate my activities at any time. It takes a minute or two to get it working right, but I can solve most issues remotely using this method.
- House calls. For a reasonable mileage fee, I can show up at your door just like the infamous "Geek Squad". I'm not a HUGE fan of travel though, so if it's convenient for you:
- Drop-off service. Most issues resolved within 24 hours or less.
- E-mail service. Would require obtaining a quote for the issue. It's possible that your answer is free assuming there's a link I can send you to for the answer. Anything else would vary on the amount
of research I'd have to do to resolve the issue.
